Race Day Checklist

Seems like every triathlete I know is racing this weekend! Between the inaugural Orangeman 70.3 distance race and the LA Tri this weekend there's a lot of buzz about this Sunday. If you're anything like me, you've got a mega case of Race Brain.

Race Brain (n): The scattered, fragmented state of mind that occurs a few days before a triathlon. Symptoms include (but are not limited to): forgetfulness, apathy towards work, hunger, inability to recall names, dates, appointments while able to recite exact projected split times, and general anxiety.
My head is a messy place right now. Work has been slammed, I've been exhausted, I've more screeched to a halt than tapered, and I am still in shock that I'm doing a half-ironman this weekend! Fortunately, I have preventative measures for frenzy-induced mishaps. To combat my forgetfulness and soothe my anxiety, I make lists. Compulsive, anal-retentive, often typed checklists. Sure, it may be a little crazy, but it works, dammit. Especially when we have two nit-wit triathlon race-brain infected triathletes in our house to pack, prepare and get down to a race with no issues.

I give to you, the Race Day Checklist! You should be able to download from here, but this is my first time using this pdf uploader so let me know if it's wonky. If you're racing - HAVE FUN & BE SAFE!
